Joy in Chile

Chile rescue

I don’t see much television, but – after hearing news reports all day – I wanted to see some part of the rescue of the Chilean miners.  CNN has compiled a video showing all 33 miners meeting their family members – and YouTube shows the tense and touching moment when the capsule emerged with the first miner to be rescued:

It took hundreds, perhaps thousands of people to drill the rescue shaft and create the special equipment.  But each miner searched the crowd to see the face of someone waiting just for him – and that moment of being reunited with family showed just how powerful and strong the bond can be.

We hear so much tragic and violent news.  Today we have one story for which we can simply say, Thank you Lord.
