Federation of St. Benedict Chapter

Just arrived in Bismarck

I will be live blogging from the Chapter meeting of the Federation of St. Benedict for the next several days. The Chapter meets once every three years, with delegates from all the monasteries – including sisters from Taiwan, Japan, Puerto Rico and the Bahamas.  The agenda is full, but gives us plenty of time to sit and talk, share our monastic experiences, and strengthen the bonds that unite us.  Sister Mary Catherine and I were chosen as delegates from our monastery; Sister Lois attends as prioress.

Annunciation Monastery in Bismarck, North Dakota is hosting the Chapter meeting this year.  We arrived in good spirits not quite 9 hours after we left Duluth.  After Evening Prayer and Supper, the Chapter officially convenes.

This must be very interesting for you. So fun to share what we love! I’m not sure what “live blogging,” unless you mean blog as you go, and not wait until you get home. Either way, I’ll be looking forward to reading all about it.
